Born in San Francisco, California in the mid 1960's, I was raised in Silicon Valley before it was even known as Silicon Valley. Sunnyvale was a mostly quiet agriculture town...known for its cherries. Olsen's Cherries...Yum! My childhood is where I learned the fine art of storytelling. Hours and hours of playtime and a very active imagination lent itself to my storytelling skills. Then as I grew older and established myself as a successful hairdresser I learned about Storytelling for impact and a sense of truth with my clients. This eventually lead me to filmmaking, where my love of photography merged with my love of storytelling.
In Cinema production at SFSU, I was able to use my background in hair, photography, travel and writing to nurture my dreams and see them begin to come true. BuddhaKai Studios is a long held dream, an aspect of myself which has not had the time to shine. All my loves converge here in one space...knowledge, growth, sharing, compassion, dogs, animals, flowers, color, light, open sky, open water, playful clouds, the impermanent light and color of a sunrise and sunset, and capturing stillness...that moment in time. Stillness is that sacred place which tells stories. It touches that familiar place in all of us. I truly believe that your legacy is in everyone you touch. ~Namaste~ |
Born in Walnut Creek CA, I was immediately born into adventure and travel. And, its been feeding my soul ever since, and happily, with no end in sight. As my love for travel grew, so did my love of photography. I was lucky enough to live in Turkey in the mid 1980's, a time when Turkey was transitioning and becoming more industrialized society with an emerging market. It awoke in me a new respect for different cultures and a simpler way to life and humanity. This is where my love for art and global cultures took root.
Known as a "Jane of all trades", both in creative and analytical industries, my focus has always been on making my surroundings as creative and beautiful as possible. I've enjoyed working in the travel industry as an online Hawaiian travel agent, a Massage Therapist, and a brief stint as a Still Photographer for a Hollywood movie film location shoot in the SF Bay Area. So, from traveling, to working in nature, or working from a cubicle, my art has always been with me. And, now with you. Enjoy! |
